Mood is federally legal! How?

All our products are federally legal and have been since the 2018 Farm Bill. We have all our products tested regularly by third-party labs, to ensure our compliance with federal law. Technically speaking, the Farm Bill legalized cannabis products containing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight. As gummies are relatively heavy, they can contain a lot of D9 THC whilst remaining federally lawful, and our flowers contain high amounts of naturally occurring THCa, which turns into D9 THC when smoked, giving you the same great feeling of illegal marijuana, whilst still being federally lawful.

How do you create the different moods?

Lots of people have heard of cannabis being indica or sativa — but we go way beyond these simple definitions! Our in-house cannabis experts start by reviewing detailed lab tests which measure levels of naturally occurring minor cannabinoids and terpenes. We classify these results based on the sum of their parts, which allows us to determine way more about the results than simple Indica or Sativa types. Everybody reacts slightly differently to cannabis, so it’s not a 100% perfect science, but most people who shop according to mood are very satisfied!

How Mood Concentrates Are Made

Mood’s selection of concentrates includes everything from classic hash to next-generation extracts like diamonds and dab sugar.

Each has its own unique production process, which we break down below.

Hash

THCa Hash

Mood’s hash is made traditionally by collecting, compressing, and heating trichomes to create this historic concentrate.

Our partners at Hempyre deviate from standard heat-press practices often used for mass production to keep our products both Farm Bill compliant and upscale.

They use a blend of CBD, CBG, and THCa flower trichomes to keep our cannabinoid levels legal.

This expert team also hand-rolls temple ball hash in a sticky CBD distillate because the warmth of their palms (above 90 and below 100 degrees) is enough to congeal the hash without activating the THCa.

We’re also proud to note that Hempyre’s squad of hand-rolling hash producers consists of mostly U.S. military veterans.

Delta-8 Hash

Our Delta-8 hash follows the same process as THCa hash but is rolled with Delta-8 THC distillate instead.

Moonrocks

Another product of our Hempyre partnership, our moonrocks require whole flower.

The team buys large quantities of flower, grinds them down, and then sieves them at least four times over. The result is a stemless, seamless particulate that’s highly potent while a bit larger than kief or a trichome — ideal for a moonrocks’ base.

The team rolls that particulate in a CBD or Delta-8 distillate and THCa isolate. As a final step, this ball of cannabinoids is then hand-rolled in THCa kief.

Dab Badder (or Rosin Badder)

An expensive-to-produce ingredient — THCa isolate is the main component of our Mood’s dab badder.

THCa isolate is made large amounts of cannabis plant material like sugar leaf. Scientists run the content through a centrifuge that separates the THCa from other cannabinoids, siphoning it off into a fine powder that’s 99.99% THCa.

From there, the experts over at Hempyre add cannabis-derived terpenes (CDTs) to complement the THCa with flavors and aromas from your favorite strains. The dab badder also includes some CBN and CBG isolates to help provide the entourage effect.

Diamonds

Diamonds are also the product of flash-freezing fresh cannabis plants.

Our scientific partners produce a live resin that crystalizes into the translucent, shiny concentrate we love by chilling a solvent at extremely low temperatures and using it to wash frozen plant material in a commercial-grade, closed-loop hydrocarbon extractor.

Like all our concentrates, Mood’s THCa Diamonds are a great addition to any bowl, joint, or blunt.

Dab Sugar

Dab Sugar is made by flash-freeing fresh cannabis plants and then extracting a cannabinoid-rich solvent with gas.

Essentially, this creates a nearly identical product as diamonds, with the production process sped up, resulting in smaller crumble-like particles.

Our partners purify that product with a vacuum oven designed to remove all solvents and leave behind a pure THCa concentrate that will harden and crystalize into our dab sugar.
